If you’ve subscribed to a streaming service like Binge or Kayo recently you may have come across the name Streamotion. You may have also seen Streamotion listed on a recent bank statement. But don’t worry, it’s nothing dodgy, here is everything you need to know about Streamotion.
What is Streamotion
Streamotion runs the streaming apps Binge, Kayo Sports, and Flash News. These are 3 seperate streaming apps, that each require a seperate subscription, but they are all run by the one company. Streamotion provides billing and customer service for these apps as well as developing the software.
Logging in Using Streamotion
To login to your Binge, Kayo or Flash News account you need to use your Streamotion login. When you signed up to one of these streaming services, you would have created a streamotion account. If you’re looking to find your Kayo Sports or Binge password and can’t seem to find it, make sure you look under “streamotion” in your password manager.
Instead of having one account for each streaming service, you have one Streamotion account that can be used to sign up and login to Binge, Kayo and Flash.
If you’re using a Smart TV or streaming device like an Apple TV, you’ll need to go to the Streamotion Activation page. Or just use your camera and scan the QR code.
What is Streamotion on My Bank Statement
If you’ve seen a charge from Streamotion on your bank statement, thats because you’ve registered for one of the following streaming services:
- Binge
- Kayo Sports
- Flash News
These streaming apps are run by Streamotion and billing shows up on your bank statement from Streamotion.
How do I cancel Streamotion
To cancel your Streamotion account, you’ll need to login to the streaming app or apps that you’ve subscribed to. From there you can visit the “My Account” page and look for the “Cancel Subscription” option.
The My Account page will also show any other Streamotion subscriptions that you have.
The good thing about these streaming apps is there are no lock in contracts. So you can cancel your subscription at any time and you’ll stop getting charged. You can pause your subscription and choose to start it again at a later date without needing to close your account.
Who Owns Streamotion
Streamotion Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of the Foxtel Group. Foxtel owns and controls Streamotion. I don’t know the exact reasons why Foxtel created a subsidiary to run their streaming business, but my guess is they wanted to seperate things from the Foxtel brand. Foxtel is owned by News Corp and Telstra.
Is Kayo Part of Streamotion
Kayo Sports is the popular sports streaming app in Australia. It currently has over 1 million subscribers. Kayo is owned by Streamotion and Streamotion is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Foxtel Group. Kayo streams the same sports content that is available on Fox Sports, albeit without 4k support. But yes, Kayo is part of Streamotion.
Does Streamotion have the Same content as Foxtel
For the most part, the shows and movies available on Foxtel are available for streaming through the Streamotion apps. I’ve written a guide on how to move from Foxtel over to the streaming apps. If you have a Smart TV, you could save a fortune by cancelling your Foxtel subscription and moving to streaming.
