Is it Worth Getting the Eufy Dual Video Doorbell?
The Eufy Dual is one of the best video doorbells you can buy. It has a good mix of features without any glaring omissions and it doesn’t require an ongoing monthly subscription.
The doorbell needs to be purchased with the Eufy Base Station. The Base Station acts as a hub and it records the video from the doorbell. There are video doorbells that have an SD card slot, but I’ve found these doorbells to be unreliable especially when out of the home. The hub makes sure the doorbell stays connected and it also acts as a chime.
The Eufy Dual is a worthy upgrade over the Eufy 2k doorbell. The 2 cameras increase the field of view and is particular good at package detection. The doorbell can see if a package has been delivered and will even notify you if you’ve forgotten to pick it up.
The Eufy Dual can be wired or wireless. The manufacturer claims the battery will last 6 months between charges. In my testing the battery lasted 5 months. The charge you get will depend on the outside temperature and the amount of video streaming you are doing.
Eufy 2k Video Doorbell – Best Cheaper Option
The Dual is the “ultimate” video doorbell, but if you’re looking for a cheaper option, I highly recommend the Eufy 2k Video Doorbell. It uses the same base station as the Dual. The doorbell has just one camera as opposed to the two cameras on the Dual. The camera quality isn’t quite as good as the Dual but it’s still very good and much better than most doorbell cameras. You won’t be able to see as far down using the Eufy 2k so you might not be able to see packages.
If you’re worried about package detection, I would pay a bit more and get the Eufy Dual as it has very good package detection and you’ll be able to see if your package has been stolen or moved.
